The Dance group of the Kyjov Moravian Ensemble is an integral part of the ensemble, which has been active in Kyjov continuously since 1942. It brings together young dancers aged 17 to 25, with the primary aim of preserving and further developing the rich traditions of the Kyjov Dolňácko region.
Its repertoire focuses mainly on folk dances and songs from the Kyjov area. The ensemble presents Kyjov and Nětčice skočná dances, the Milotice “Slovenská,” various polka variations, and the traditional male dance verbuňk. In addition to authentic forms of folk dance, the group also explores staged adaptations, allowing for more expressive choreography and creative stage interpretation.
The ensemble regularly performs at folklore festivals and cultural events both in the Czech Republic and abroad. It actively participates in traditional customs and events such as hodové celebrations, harvest festivals, the erection and cutting of the Maypole, and cimbalom gatherings, contributing to the preservation of living folklore in the region.
The Dance Ensemble offers its own programme composed of a range of dance pieces, which is regularly updated and expanded with new choreographies.
