The idea behind the group originated from the intention to establish, within the Kyjov Moravian Ensemble, a section of older dancers – so-called “folklore veterans.” This plan came to life in 2014, when the ensemble adopted the name Pajtáši, which in the Slovácko dialect can mean something like a rascal, while in Old Slavic it carries the meaning of a friend, companion, or mate.
The group’s activities focus primarily on regional dances, such as the Kyjov skočná, the Milotice “Slovenská,” and others.
The ensemble takes part in traditional customs and events in the Kyjov region as well as in various cultural performances throughout the Czech Republic and abroad.
